Sale of Bosch’s steering and transmission pumps business to Fidelium Partners completed

The sale process of the steering and transmission pumps business of Bosch Automotive Steering was completed on January 31, 2022. Starting from February, the pumps business with its approximately 900 employees worldwide were transferred to Fidelium Partners. The antitrust authorities had previously approved the full takeover.

Following the completion of the transaction, Fidelium and Pump Technology Solutions PS GmbH will start the sustainable development of the business. "The pump business is well positioned and has further potential. Together with Fidelium as the new owner, the highly competent, global team will focus on the market demands of the pump business to further shape a successful future," explains Hanns Bernd Ketteler (Member of the Board of Management of Robert Bosch Automotive Steering GmbH).

The pump business comprises the development, production and distribution of steering pumps and transmission pumps for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Development and sales are mainly located in Schwäbisch Gmünd and Berlin, while production takes place in Berlin and Nanjing/China. In addition, there are further locations in Brazil and the USA. The division encompasses around 900 employees, of which just under 600 are in Germany. All employees transferred to the new company as part of the transaction and Fidelium has retained the existing sites.

About Bosch Automotive Steering

In the summer of 2019, Bosch Automotive Steering announced plans to restructure the pump business and search for a buyer. The goal was to improve the business unit's economic potential and return it to sustainable profitability.

With this step, the company of approximately 13,000 associates, of which 5,700 are in Germany, plans to focus on the development and production of electric steering systems. This is the key technology for highly automated, electric driving. This is how Bosch Automotive Steering intends to ensure its leading market position in the future as well.
